MY 2012 FISHING JOURNAL

MARCH 23 =
I could not stand it any more !!!
I worked in the flower garden off and on most of the morning and kept the small garden variety earthworms I found, not very big, but maybe they would catch fish later in the day.
Went over to the Clarion at 3pm and fished until 4:30pm.
Landed my first game fish of 2012 .. a smallmouth bass
landed one small sucker and a handful of creek chubs about 6 inches long
Had several other fish on but with such a small hook they got off and I do not know what they were ??

APRIL 13TH =
Tried a couple spots along the Clarion River, only caught fish at one spot and they were SUCKERS.. 6 of them ....It was fun getting out but I wish I could have caught some better fish !!!

APRIL 20TH =
I helped stock trout in North Fork this morning.
Then stuck around and fished for awhile at Richardsville..
The creek is really low on water..
The guys from the sportmens club only float stocked from Egypt bridge down stream with 3 floats of trout..
I landed and then released 5 Brook trout and watch a friend land trout ,one after another, from the spot he was fishing a little downstream from where I was...
I just could not throw across the creek far enough to the deeper water along the far bank.. and did not have the waders with me.. DUMB !!!!.

APRIL 27TH =
I started the day off by helping stock The Warsaw Sportmen's club trout in North Fork. A couple guys float stocked from Blowtown Bridge down stream and we dumped about a hundred more Brown Trout at Jones Bridge.
After returning the tank to the hatchery I went over to Humpback Bridge and fished for about an hour and landed only one Brook trout
I then stopped at the two places we stocked to check on the trout. They were still in the general areas but were not hungry or biting. I even bumped wax worms off a couple noses and they would not bite them.. LOL

MAY 5TH =
Fished for two hours this morning at Richardsville and landed two Brook trout and had one follow but no bite.
Also had three deer walk out into the creek to drink and splash around a little bit and then walked off...nice warm sunny morning, now it's time for working for three days...

MAY 11TH =
Once again the Clarion River fishing was not good. I fished for 2 hours and only caught one small Bullhead Catfish and a small Sucker. Do not know exactly why the fish are not biting at my favorite spot ??? Oh well it's still early into fishing season, maybe next trip will be better ???

MAY 13TH =
I had a pretty good morning of trout fishing. Fished 2 spots on Little Toby in Brockway. Landed 2 Rainbow Trout at the first stop and 4 Brown Trout at the second stop. All on nightcrawlers. The last Brown was the biggest..

MAY 19TH =
I spent 3 hours after work at one of my favorite spots definitely was dissappointing.. only landed small Rock Bass... JUNE 24TH =
This morning I fished for two hours on Toby Creek above where it empties into the Clarion River. I landed two Smallmouths and one Brown Trout, all on baby nightcrawlers.
Watched several Brown trout rising to take bugs off the surface..and one that almost completely was out of the water after a bug ..
It was entertaining to watch them. Enjoyed the morning...
now it's time for "yard work"... UGH !!!!

JULY 19TH =
I had an enjoyable two hours of fishing on the Clarion this morning.
I stopped at a familar hole and landed three Smallmouths. I fished for an hour and a half there then went to my #1 spot and was totally dissappointed at that spot.
I only managed three little Rock Bass there. I'm not sure why my favorite spot has been TERRIBLE this year for catching fish ??????????
I spotted a total of 8 deer on the way over.. all on public land, two of them were fawns with their mother.

JULY 22ND =
Put on the waders and waded out where I fished the other day. I missed two nice stirkes and landed 3 Smallmouths, also 4-5 creek chubs , all on crawlers with no weight . I just let them drift down stream and slowly reeled them back in.

SEPTEMBER 13th =
Went to Lake Erie to fish for Yellow Perch with my buddy Barney, I landed 30, most of which were nice sized,
There was a total of 4 of us that made the trip and counting the captain of the boat, we had 5 guys and landed 150 perch.
Had a great, enjoyable day
