I fished the Clarion at Belltown this morning for 2.5 hours. Landed 5 fish. 2 Brook Trout, 2 Suckers, and a baby Bullhead Catfish and several Creek Chubs ( no counting these ) ...... Wonderful morning I fished a couple spots from Hallton down to Belltown after work this evening. Only landed 4 fish total. 2 small Rock Bass and 2 nice Brook Trout. The trout were caught on wax worms, bass on worms.. Fished at Portland Mills this morning, fishing was terribly slow. I ended up throwing lures and landed one trout, he hit the lure.... must have really been hungry.... Spent a couple hours this evening fishing the Clarion River. The holiday "boaters" were everywhere at the launch, but I still managed some GOOD fishing. I landed 5 Brook Trout and 1 Smallmouth all on small pieces of nightcrawlers Spotted a dozen whitetails on the way home at 7:45pm. In June in rained almost every single day and the days it did not rain, the creeks and the river were too muddy for fishing.. July was not much better. The beginning had rain on my days off and then the dry spell hit and the water levels got too low for fishing, spots on the Clarion were so low I could have walked across and not got my knees wet... As mentioned a TERRIBLE year for fishing, what really upset me , is at my age I don't have a ton of fishing years left.... Hopefully next year will be my BEST ever !!!
